Prince George to Smithers, BC
Breakfast at a restaurant next to the motel. Then rode to Cycle North to get a new rear tire. I was going to take the wheel off the bike to save a few bucks but decided against the effort and dirty hands. Nice crew there.
On my way around 11 am.
Today and for the next few days the route will retrace last year's return route, just in the opposite direction. Today it was all BC-16, a two lane highway, fairly flat through woods and farmland with distant low mountains.
There were several stoppages for road repaving and a headwind the whole way, so not a 100% pleasurable ride. At one of the stoppages a flag lady scolded me for passing a truck in a work zone.
Gas in Prince George and at some nameless stop just after Burns River.
Just about every town along this road has lodging, food and gas.
Tonight in a motel in Smithers. There are a lot of motels in this town.
After tonight I'll probably be sleeping on the ground for several days. Internet access will be sporadic at best so this blog may go silent for awhile.
